History
The suezmax tanker was built in 1975 at Nippon Kokan Yard in Japan and in 1997, a joint venture between Fred. Olsen Production and Prosafe Production (Singapore), was awarded a contract with Ranger Oil for the Kiame Field (Angola Block 4). First oil on the field was in june 1998.  In 2001, the contract with Ranger Oil on the Kiame Field expired, and the FPSO Petróleo Nautipa was after upgrading transferred to the Etame Field (Gabon). FPSO Petróleo Nautipa has since 2002 operated on a contract for Vaalco at the Etame license, a contract that has been extended several times and now last until September 2015 with options for another one plus one year.
